August 6, 1666: Aphra Behn, code name “Astrea,” filed her first report as a spy for the court of Charles II. Though her stint in espionage was unsuccessful, Behn became one of the first women to make a living as a writer in England.

**A young Bill Gates came to mind as I read this quote. Well, he stoleĀ from Microsoft, didn’t he? Done pretty well for himself since then, I’ve heard.
